![]() ![]() I'm not sure how the picture will look to you guys but as you can see, there is quite a lot of banding. The above shows what banding is like (presumably due to the TN-based panel. Seeing how it is a TN panel, it has a response time of 5ms, which should eliminate ghosting, which is a known problem on the Dell 2407-HCs. Banding is visible even on the default Windows Vista background, but I’m used to it, and quite frankly didn’t expect anymore from a $500 monitor. I have no problems with that, because my 940N is also a 6-bit panel, and what I don’t know can’t hurt me. I am NOT 100% sure about the quality of this panel, but the price and display quality would lead me to believe this is in fact a 6-bit TN panel. However surprisingly the monitor is quite stable, and wobbles just as much when touching the screen as the 940N. When you compare this to my 940N stand, which weighs a good 2-3kg by itself you see where BenQ has cut corners. It’s basically a piece of plastic with no added weight support. To be honest, while the panel has a very minimalistic design and looks sturdy, it isn’t really. It would allow me to hook up an Xbox360 or PS3 through HDMI no worries. The fact it has HDMI was the reason I bought this instead of the equally priced Dell 248WFP. The G2400W comes with 3 inputs – VGA, DVI and HDMI. Not much of a problem during gaming or movies, but writing on message boards or word docs makes it very visible.Īnyway. (I have to make use of the 0-dead pixel warranty as I have one in the upper left sector (middle of picture, to the right of OC%HW). If I read this correctly, any bright pixel in the centre quadrant of the monitor also warrants replacement. 14-day 0 dead pixel defect replacement warranty and 3 year warranty if more than 5 dead pixels. So after I set-up the new monitor, I check out the warranty information and manual. ![]() My digital camera has the habit of focusing on everything BUT my subject. I apologize in advance for the quality of the photos. ![]() The display itself is huge (compared to my old 19” 940N anyway). Not bad at all, considering the product info states a DVI cable is optional extra. After taking it home and marvelling at the size of the box, I unpacked the monitor. So I just got my new 24” BenQ G2400W monitor from ScorpTec for a lovely $555. ![]()
